HIRC beachShivatree Yoga  is based on the Big Island of Hawaii with deep roots in Kailua, on the island of Oahu. 

Originally the brainchild of Michael Graney and Amanda Webster, Shivatree Yoga School is currently owned and operated solely by Amanda, eRYT-500, Certified Ayurveda Counselor and Reiki Level 1.  Each one of her many yoga classes, workshops or retreats incorporates philosophy and down-to-earth applications, drawing parallels between our thoughts, actions, speech and relationships on and off the mat.

Amanda inspires connection, sustainability and self-inquiry through a wide variety of high-quality yoga classes, trainings and retreats. Her mission as a teacher is to help others recognize that mindfulness can take many forms and may be cultivated in a myriad of ways, such as yoga, martial arts, meditation, self-care, or by being present. She teaches heart-centered classes that range from upbeat to serious, humble to powerful, and everything in-between specializing in systematic sequences that encourage you to OWN your practice as it needs to exist in each breath without comparing yourself to the person next to you, trying to live up to your previous practice, or shutting down when something challenges you…valuable qualities for your life, too!

Amanda loves watching students light up from the practice of yoga!  Her mission as a teacher is to help others recognize that mindfulness can take many forms and may be cultivated in a myriad of ways, such as yoga, martial arts, meditation, self-care, or by simply (simply…ha!) being present in everything that you do!  She teaches heart-centered classes that range from upbeat to serious, humble to powerful, and everything in-between.  Her specialty is breaking down asana and vinyasa into manageable steps to suit each individual, and encouraging you to OWN your practice as it needs to exist in each breath without comparing yourself to the person next to you, trying to live up to your previous practice, or shutting down when something challenges you.  Amanda is also a Certified Ayurveda Counselor, through the American Institute of Vedic Studies, and often incorporates the ancient holistic practices of Ayurveda into her teaching.  She believes that the genuine practice of yoga intensifies when you leave your mat and looks forward to helping you establish this awareness, too, for a  healthier lifestyle and more content outlook on life!
